QATAR SIGNS LNG TANKER DEAL

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Qatar has signed a $2.5 billion contract to purchase theworld's largest liquefied natural gas carriers. Qatar Gas Transport Co. said it ordered three Qmax LNG carriers fromDaewoo Shipbuilding and Marine and another three from Samsung HeavyIndustries. The carriers have a capacity of 265,000 cubic meters each,making them the largest in the world, Qatar Gas Transport said.
