Turkish Firms Enhance Military Reconnaissance
ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkish state-owned companies have been enhancing the
military's detection and reconnaissance capabilities.
Several defense firms have been working on projects to improve Turkey's
reconnaissance and early-warning networks. The companies have been joined
by Western defense majors in the development of land and air systems.
Turkey's Aselsan has been developing and installing a major surveillance
and detection system for the navy. Under the project, which included
Norway's Kongsberg, Aselsan would improve protection of Turkish Navy
bases at Aksaz and Foca.
