IRAQ EXPANDS SECURITY RESPONSIBILITY

BAGHDAD [MENL] -- The Iraqi military has been slowly expanding its area ofresponsibility. The 8th Iraqi Army Division has taken responsibility for militaryoperations across two large provinces in central and northern Iraq. Thedecision marked the first move by the Iraqi military to expand itsresponsibility in 2006.
