ALGERIA ASSESSES 800 INSURGENTS LEFT

CAIRO [MENL] -- Algeria has assessed that as many as 800 Islamic insurgentscontinue to fight the regime. Algerian Interior Minister Noureddine Yazid Zerhouni said between 700and 800 Islamic insurgents remain active throughout the country. Zerhounisaid the number of insurgents warrants the continuation of emergency rule.
