UNIFIL Won't Search For Hizbullah Weapons
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United Nations peace-keeping mission in Lebanon has
conceded failure to find weapons of the Iranian-sponsored Hizbullah.
UN Interim Force in Lebanon commander Maj. Gen. Claudio Graziano said
despite nearly two years of Israeli complaints, his 13,000-member force has
neither seized nor blocked Hizbullah weapons shipments. Graziano said his
troops were unauthorized to stop weapons smuggling from Lebanon into Syria
without Lebanese government permission.
