Power Struggle Rages In Syria: Report
TEL AVIV [MENL] -- The assassination of President Bashar Assad's top
military adviser suggests a power struggle in Syria, a report said.
The Institute for National Security Studies asserted that the killing of
Gen. Mohammed Suleiman on Aug. 1 appeared to mark a power struggle within
the Assad regime. The report, authored by Israeli researcher Amir Kulick,
said Suleiman could
have been killed by either the opposition or upon orders of the president.
