Algerian Security Rocked By AQIM Strike
CAIRO [MENL] -- Algeria has been struck by the bloodiest Islamic insurgency
attack in 2008.
Algerian security forces underwent the worst attack in years when Al
Qaida operatives bombed a training school of the paramilitary Gendarmarie.
On Aug. 19, a suicide bomber detonated a car packed with explosives at
the school in Issers, some 55 kilometers east of Algiers, in an attack that
killed at least 43 people and injured 38.
