CONGRESS DIVIDED OVER IRAN SANCTIONS

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Congress has been divided over a proposal to imposeadditional sanctions on Iran. Congressional leaders have failed to agree on whether to approvelegislation that would tighten a ban on investments in Iran's energy sector.The dispute pits supporters of President George Bush's decision to offerincentives against those who argue that Iran cannot be trusted to endnuclear weapons activities.
