U.S. TRANSFERS SECURITY TO IRAQ IN BAGHDAD

BAGHDAD [MENL] -- The U.S. Army has transferred a major part of Baghdad toIraq's military. In what was termed one of the largest transfers of operations, theU.S.-led coalition handed over security responsibility for several parts ofBaghdad to the Iraq Army. The areas where Iraqi authorities would assumeresponsibility were identified as western Baghdad and eastern Abu Ghraib.
