U.S. NIXES WARPLANES FOR IRAQ AIR FORCE

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. military has recommended that the new Iraq AirForce not be provided with fighter-jets. U.S. Central Command determined that Iraq does not require fighter-jetsfor the nation's current needs. A Centcom review said warplanes could notconduct counter-insurgency missions.
