Israel Denied Access To U.S. X-Band Radar
TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel has agreed to the deployment of a U.S. long-range
radar that would be inaccessible to the nation's military or intelligence
community.
Officials said the Defense Ministry has agreed to the transfer of an
X-band radar by U.S. European Command to a remote location in Israel's Negev
desert. They said the Joint Tactical Ground Station would be manned entirely
by U.S. military personnel and remain off-limits to Israelis.
