Iraq Request Vehicle Better Armored Than HUMVEE

BAGHDAD [MENL] -- Iraq has submitted a request to the United States for a
combat vehicle superior in protection to that of the Humvee.
The Iraqi police have sought to acquire the M1117 Armored Security
Vehicle from the United States. The ASV M1117, manufactured by Textron
Marine and Land Systems, has been deployed by the U.S. Army for convoy
protection in Iraq.
