Lebanon Appoints Military Chief

NICOSIA [MENL] -- After months of wrangling, Lebanon has named a new
military chief.
The government of Prime Minister Fuad Siniora has nominated Gen. Jean
Kahwaji as the new military chief of staff. Kahwaji replaces Michel
Suleiman, elected Lebanon's president in May 2008.
