BAHRAIN APPOINTS PARLIAMENTARY DEFENSE CHIEF

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Bahrain's newly-elected parliament has appointeda chairman of a panel that will oversee the kingdom's military and defenseestablishment. Parliamentarians elected Ahmed Bahzad as chairman of the new ForeignAffairs, Defense and National Economy Committee. The panel is meant tooversee such bodies as the military, Defense Ministry and Foreign Ministry.
