U.S. LAUNCHES NEW ANTI-TERROR PROJECT
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has launched a new computer projectmeant to track suspected insurgents. The Defense Department has awarded Hicks & Associates a $19.3 millioncontract for the feasibility and development of a system to help commanderswithdecisions regarding the detection and tracking of suspected insurgents. Theproject calls for a closed-loop, end-to-end prototype system for earlywarning and decision-making. This includes the integration of previouslydeveloped technologies into what officials term the Total InformationAwareness system.
