TURKEY PLANS INVASION OF N. IRAQ

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey's military plans a major invasion of northern Iraqto secure its interests amid any U.S.-led war against the regime ofPresident Saddam Hussein. The military has drafted plans for up to 80,000 troops to cross theborder with Iraq and capture oil-rich areas in the north as well asestablish safe haven areas for the estimated 1 million ethnic Turks in Iraq.
