U.S. MOVES ADVANCED DEFENSE SYSTEMS TO QATAR

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has deployed advanced missile defensesystems to Qatar to protect its ally as well as the American militarypresence in the Gulf Arab state. U.S. officials said U.S. Central Command has moved PAC-2 batteries andadvanced early-warning radar to Qatar over the last few months. Theofficials did not rule out the prospect that a PAC-3 missile battery wouldalso be moved to the emirate.
