JORDAN FOILS IRAQI PLOT TO POISON U.S. TROOPS

AMMAN [MENL] -- Jordan has foiled an Iraqi plot to poison British and U.S.troops deployed in bases in the eastern kingdom. Jordanian government sources said five Iraqi diplomats expelled lastweek were involved in an attempt to contaminate water supplied to coalitionforces in military bases near the Iraqi border. The water brought to thebases came from Zarqa, about 30 kilometers east of Amman.
