Turkey Decides To Procure S-300

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has decided to procure the S-300 air defense system
from republics in the former Soviet Union.
Industry sources said Ankara would purchase surplus S-300 systems from
Belarus and Ukraine. They said the Defense Ministry's Defense Industry
Undersecretariat, or SSM, would acquire the systems as part of Turkey's
efforts to develop counter-measures.
