ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The United Arab Emirates has been examining an
alternative route for crude oil shipments in case of war with Iran.
Officials said the UAE has been discussing with other Gulf Cooperation
Council states routes that would be out of range of Iranian short-range
missiles fired toward the Gulf. They said the UAE could expand oil export
terminals on its east coast to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, located along
the Iranian coast.
