Turkey Nears End Of Leopard Upgrade

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has approached the completion of the modernization
of a German-origin main battle tank.
Industry sources said Turkish contractors were preparing to conclude the
upgrade of the Leopard-1 tank. Under the project led by prime contractor
Aselsan, 166 Leopard-1A1 and 1A4 MBTs were to be modernized with advanced
fire control systems.
