REPSOL WINS MAJOR ALGERIAN GAS TENDER

CAIRO [MENL] -- A leading Western energy consortium has won a natural gasproject in Algeria. A consortium headed by Spain's Repsol was awarded a gas integrationproject estimated at up to $3.5 billion in Algeria. The project was locatedat Gassi Touil-Rhourde-Nouss, 100 kilometers south of Hassi Messaoud, andstipulated the drilling of 52 development wells as well as liquefaction ofnatural gas.
