IR SYSTEMS FUELED BY TERROR THREAT
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S.-led war in Iraq was expected to fuel theinfrared counter-measure market meant to protect military and civilianaircraft. Frost & Sullivan said military and civilian authorities wereexamining IR counter-measure systems amid the acquisition of Soviet-originSA-7 surface-to-air shoulder-fired missiles by Islamic insurgents. Thesemissiles have been used by insurgents in Afghanistan, Chechnya and Iraq.
