TURKEY CANCELS $400M HELICOPTER EW TENDER

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has canceled another major military tender -- thistime a $400 million project to produce and install electronic warfaresystems on its helicopter fleet. Officials said the notice to cancel the helicopter EW project wasrelayedto foreign defense contractors this week. They said a July 14 letterto several competitors said the Helicopter Electronic Warfare Systemsproject -- launched in 2001 -- was being shelved.
