ABL PROGRAM IS REVISED

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has revised its Airborne Laserprogram amid funding woes and technical obstacles. The Defense Department's Missile Defense Agency has restructured the ABLprogram in wake of a determination that the system was incapable ofbeing employed by 2006. Plans to hold the ABL's first test in 2005 have alsobeen indefinitely postponed.
