EGYPT DISMISSES ISLAMIST TEACHERS

CAIRO [MENL] -- The government has dismissed hundreds of teachers suspectedof trying to indoctrinate students to join an Islamic war against the West. Egyptian officials said the dismissals have taken place over the lastyear amid a review by the Education Ministry of the curriculum and theperformance of teachers. They said the teachers were investigated bysecurity services on suspicion of seeking to indoctrinate students in jihadmeant to prepare them for eventual recruitment by Islamicinsurgency groups.
