Turkish Engine Center Expected To Open In 2009
ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey was scheduled to open its energy maintenance center
in 2009.
The Turkish Engine Center marked a joint venture of the U.S. firm Pratt
& Whitney and the state-owned Turkish Airlines Technic. The center would be
constructed at Sabiha Gokcen International Airport and provide maintenance,
repair and overhaul services for the CFM56 engine family and V2500-A5
engine.
"Once fully operational, this center is expected to overhaul up to 200
engines annually," Turkish Engine Center general manager Daniel Tenant said.
