TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's military has been preparing for the prospect of
a mutiny by soldiers ready to refuse orders to destroy Jewish homes in the
West Bank.
Officials acknowledge that an increasing number of soldiers have
expressed their opposition to a government policy of destroying Jewish homes
or communities in the West Bank. They said the opposition could intensify in
wake of the government decision to freeze housing starts for Jews in the
West Bank for at least the next 10 months.
