Separatists Step Up Campaign In Yemen

CAIRO [MENL] -- The southern opposition movement plans to escalate the
separatist campaign in Yemen.
Separatists have been recruiting thousands of supporters to intensify
protests against the regime of Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The
movement has been demanding the secession of southern Yemen, which had been
a separate state from 1967 through 1990.
