U.S. Selects APS System
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. Army has selected an active protection system
to counter rocket attacks against combat vehicles.
The army has awarded an $8 million contract for the Iron Curtain APS,
designed to destroy rocket-propelled grenades before they reach combat
vehicles. The contract was awarded to Artis LLC, developer of Iron Curtain,
meant to neutralize the RPG warhead just centimeters before the targeted
vehicle.
