U.S. Missile Defense Plan Ignores Mideast
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- President Barack Obama's missile defense plan has
ignored the threat in the Middle East, a leading analyst said.
Riki Ellison, chairman of the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance,
asserted that Obama's missile defense plan was focused on Europe and ignored
the neighboring Middle East. Ellison, regarded as a leading lobbyist for
missile defense, said Obama's four-stage plan did not deploy a sufficient
number of forward-based sensors to protect U.S. allies in the Middle East.
