Congress Questions U.S. Aid To PA Security
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Congress has cast doubts on the effectiveness of U.S.
training and equipping of the security forces of the Palestinian Authority.
A congressional report said the administration of President Barack Obama
was pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into training and procurement
without adequate oversight or a vision for PA security. The report said the
State Department, including the office of the security coordinator, has also
failed to establish benchmarks to determine the success of PA troops in the
West Bank.
