ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The Gulf Cooperation Council has been planning to
assemble a unified radar system for border security.
Officials said the six GCC members were examining the establishment of a
system that could relay data from a radar in any GCC country to other member
states. They said the project would form a radar network that could spot
infiltration or hostile forces in the Gulf region.
"GCC states are combining efforts to construct a unified radar system
that will boost joint security coordination efforts," Kuwait Interior
Undersecretary Maj. Gen. Suleiman Al Fahd said.
