Iran Sets Up Cells In Lebanon
ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Iran was said to have established espionage cells in
Lebanon.
Gulf Arab sources said Iran has sent hundreds of operatives from the
Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps to establish cells in Lebanon. The
sources said the operatives were assigned to kill Saudi-financed Sunni
fighters in Lebanon.
"About 200 IRGC agents, based in Iraq, Bahrain and the United Arab
Emirates, have arrived in Lebanon via Syria since late July and began
forming cells comprised of members of [the Lebanese Shi'ite movements]
Hizbullah and Amal, as well as Syrian intelligence officers," a Gulf source
told the Kuwaiti daily A-Siyassa.
