Yemenite Shi'ite Rebels Expand Arsenal
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. intelligence community has determined that
Shi'ite rebels in Yemen, through pilfering of Sanaa's military, has
bolstered their military prowess.
A report for the Defense Intelligence Agency asserted that the Believing
Youth movement has become capable of producing weapons and combat platforms.
The report by the Rand Corp. said the Shi'ite rebels, believed to have been
aided by Iran, have obtained heavy weapons, including anti-aircraft guns
stolen from the Yemeni military.
