U.S. Sees AQAP As Bin Laden's Agent
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. intelligence community has determined that Al
Qaida's network in Yemen was serving Osama Bin Laden.
Officials said the intelligence community has assessed that Al Qaida
founder Osama Bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman Zawahiri were supporting Al
Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula for mass-casualty attacks against the United
States. They said AQAP was the only of the nearly dozen Al Qaida branches
that was targeting the United States.
