U.S. Warns Of Unrest In Jordan

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has determined that Jordan's greatest
threat stems from a Palestinian or Islamist takeover.
A government report said Jordan, racked by corruption, faces both civil
unrest and insurgency. The report by the Congressional Research Service,
released ahead of parliamentary elections on Nov. 9, said the military has
been a leading element in quelling internal threats to the Hashemite
kingdom.
