NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran has reported a capability to fire its new solid-fuel
ballistic missile in salvos.
Maj. Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi, the military adviser to President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad, asserted that Iran could fire its new Sajil solid-fuel
intermediate-range ballistic missile in salvos. Safavi, a former commander
of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, said this marked a major
offensive capability for Teheran.
"The two-stage missile uses combined solid fuel and has a high speed,
which enables the Iranian armed forces to fire a series of them
simultaneously if necessary," Safavi said.
