WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The administration of President Barack Obama has ruled
out military intervention to stop the killing of protesters in Syria.
Officials said the administration would not initiate or join any
military or other mission to stop the daily killing of protesters by the
regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad. They said the White House and State
Department were considering sanctions against Assad, but indicated that this
was not immediate.
