Egyptian Army Killed Protesters: Report
LONDON [MENL] -- Egypt's military, contrary to U.S. assertions, played a
significant role in the bloody crackdown on the opposition movement that
eventually ousted President Hosni Mubarak, a report said.
The International Federation for Human Rights asserted that Egypt's
military participated in the killing and torture of civilians during
anti-regime protests in January and February 2011. The group said the
military provided ammunition for the police to fire on protesters and
allowed their facilities to serve as torture chambers.
