WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Israel's failure to defeat the Iranian-sponsored
Hizbullah in 2006 reflected a poor political and military leadership, a
report said.
A leading U.S. defense consultant determined that Israeli leaders were
unable to form and implement strategy against Hizbullah during the 34-day
war in Lebanon in 2006. The Rand Corp. said in a report that Israel's
military and political chiefs failed to assess Hizbullah, set achievable
goals and apply "an effective strategy."
