Turkey Ready To Order LPD Design

ANKARA [MENL] -- The Turkish Navy has won approval for the order of a design
for its first landing platform dock.
Officials said the navy was examining a range of LPD designs from
foreign contractors. They said the acquisition of an LPD design would enable
Turkey to produce and eventually export the naval platform, meant for rapid
deployment missions.
