U.S. Firm Favored For Bahrain Oil Deal

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- A U.S. energy major has been cited as the favorite in a
tender for an oil project in Bahrain.
Occidental has been deemed the frontrunner in a tender to upgrade
an onshore oil field in Bahrain. Officials said Occidental, already awarded
an offshore energy exploration contract, was listed the leading firm among
four finalists in the project to overhaul the Awali field, with production of
35,000 barrels per day.
