Iraq, U.S. Differ On Military Presence
BAGHDAD [MENL] -- Iraq and the United States appear far apart on the
prospect of an American military presence after 2011.
Officials said Baghdad and Washington opened negotiations on the
prospect of an extended stay of the U.S. military in Iraq. They said the
United States envisions a military force of 10,000 soldiers while Iraq wants
that number to be no more than 3,000.
