Algeria Reports Killing Of AQIM Leaders

CAIRO [MENL] -- Algeria has reported the killing of leaders in the Al Qaida
network.
Officials said 15 senior operatives of the Al Qaida Organization in the
Islamic Maghreb were killed in late December 2008. They said the operatives,
killed in strongholds east of Algiers, formed the basis of the AQIM leadership.
"They constituted the hard core of AQIM," Algerian Interior Minister Yazid
Zerhouni said.
