Israel Prepares For New BMD System
TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's military has been preparing to receive a new
missile defense system.
Officials said the Israel Air Force has begun forming units to acquire
and operate David's Sling, designed to intercept anything from rockets to
short-range ballistic missiles. David's Sling, developed by Rafael Advanced
Defense Systems and the U.S. firm Raytheon, has completed a series of tests
and expected to undergo initial deployment in 2012.
