CAIRO [MENL] -- Egypt has advanced plans for a communications satellite project.
Egypt's NileSat has selected France's Arianespace to launch the Nilesat-201
satellite in 2010. The satellite, built by France's Thales, was meant to
bolster Egypt's space communications capabilities.
"We are very honored and very proud to work with the major Egyptian
operator NileSat for the third time and to participate in the development of
direct TV broadcasting in the Middle East," Arianespace chairman Jean-Yves
Le Gall said. "Our selection is clear recognition of the quality and
excellence of Arianespace's launch Service & Solutions."
