Turkey Advances In Missile Tender

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has been progressing in its project to procure a
missile defense system.
The Defense Industry Undersecretariat, or SSM, has selected bidders for
Turkey's first missile defense tender. SSM said 11 foreign companies would
compete for the estimated $1 billion project.
In a statement on Jan. 2, SSM said 19 Turkish companies were also
expected to submit bids for the missile defense tender. SSM said the
deadline for bids was set for Feb. 19.
