Syria Renews Interest In Russian Weapons

MOSCOW [MENL] -- Syria, fighting a growing revolt, has sought to purchase
Russian military platforms.
Russian defense sources said the regime of President Bashar Assad has
discussed the procurement of Russian air defense systems. They said Syrian
military officials have attended trials of advanced Russian systems as well
as an exercise near the Caspian Sea.
