AMMAN [MENL] -- Jordan has identified the location of its first nuclear
energy reactor.
Officials said the Hashemite kingdom plans to assemble its first nuclear
energy facility in the southern port of Aqaba by 2017. They said a reactor
in Aqaba could be cooled by water from the neighboring Red Sea.
"We are currently looking at the region outside of ASEZA in order to use
sea water for cooling requirements," Jordan Atomic Energy Commission
chairman Khaled Toukan said.
